I've always seen the TRYLLE books around blogs. I never thought about starting them, but one day I decided that I will. They sounded like really unique books, because I have never read books about trolls. Especially about pretty, human trolls. Amanda Hocking really constructed a wold of fantasy that has never been alive before. Wendy, the main protagonist, turns out to be not so human after all. When Finn Holmes, a random guy at school, starts following her, she starts to get suspicious. The night Finn Holmes appears at her window one night, Wendy's world changes forever. I guess it's like any typical recruiting. Usually a person from that "group" comes to the person's house to tell them who they really are. Finn tells Wendy that she's a troll, and he has to take her away from her house.
What I liked in "Switched" was that Wendy was a different type of strong. I felt like she needed to be taken care of, even though she never actually tried to portray that. Finn, is a not so mysterious guy. He might seem mysterious at first, but he's open as well. I really don't know how to describe him, because he still confuses me now. The troll "village", which is called forening, was very detailed and described thoroughly. They were very lovely to imagine as well. The kingdom was very well written, and I feel like I'm always there with them, just watching their story from the sidelines. That's what really makes a story more exciting, when you actually feel like you're experiencing it with the characters themselves.
As I got closer to finished Switched, things got really tense. I was just so anxious in the end, I kept turning the pages so fast. I got to the part of the end of the book and guess what? YES IT WAS A MAJOR CLIFFHANGER! It wasn't like your typical cliffhanger, it was a very different one. I don't even know how to explain it, but it still made you want to know what happens next! I cannot wait to read the second book "Torn" in the TRYLLE trilogy!
